Boers

Flop-eared, Roman-nosed, and wrinkled, the Boer goat is America's favorite meat goat.

For the most part, goats are hardy animals.  They require a minimal amount of care: basic shelter, quality hay and or browse, and water at all times.

Boer goats are brawny and prolific.  They will breed throughout the year. However, we prefer to kid once a year around March or April.  Does often have twins, triplets, or quadruplets.  The Boers produce a meaty yet lean carcass and grow quickly.  We are currently taking advantage of their browsing abilities.

Black Valley Farm raises goats strictly for pleasure.  We breed once a year and our goal is to prduce high percentage kids.  Our aim is to stay small and maintain a healthy herd, this will allow us tocontinue enjoy working with our nannys and thier offspring we choose to retain.

Curious, intelligent, agile, and friendly, goats provide hours of entertainment for their keepers.  Everyone who has goats loves them--Black Valley Farm included.
