Black Valley Farm, while not certified organic, strives to harmonize our practices with the way nature intended things.  We use no pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers while growing our fruits and vegetables.  Our animals are raised without the use of antibiotics whenever possible and are allowed to freely graze in open pasture.  Realizing the importance of our stewardship to the land and it's inhabitants, both human and animal, we strive to make conscious decisions.  Nature is indeed full of surprises and nothing is constant or pre determined.  Conforming to our unique micro-environment here in Black Valley is an art in the shaping.

As sustainable farms grow and multiply accross the country more and more communities are reaping the benefits of farmer-consumer relationship.  Before we ever began farming we valued the knowledge of where our food came from and how it was grown.   Health is becoming a growing concern in our country and with this in mind we urge you to consider what you are feeding your body.

Since the earlliest days of agriculture, countless individuals have dedicated themselves to the care and breeding of livestock.  These animals have filled a wide array of human needs for food, fiber, creative and spiritual expression, and companionship. Breed diversity existing within each species today is the legacy from our ancestors and reflects the multitiude of environments in which the animals have lived and the ways that they have been kept.  Taken together, the breeds represent their species' adaptability and utility, providing the genetic diversity the species needs to survive and prosper.
